Caux Palace – Historic House Tour

Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Caux Palace!

The Caux Palace was built between 1900 and 1902 and made Caux a popular tourist destination before it was bankrupted by the World Wars. It was then requisitioned by the Swiss army to house Jewish refugees. In 1946, the Caux Palace was bought by Swiss families to provide a place for "Moral Rearmament", now "Initiatives of Change", a movement initiated by Frank Buchman to help rebuild Europe. From then on, delegations from Europe and from all over the world came to Caux to work for reconciliation. Come and discover many historical treasures, as one of our guides will give you fascinating details about the building and its rich history. The medieval-style main hall, the Baroque-style theatre and the room where the Maharaja of Baroda stayed are just some of the highlights of the visit.
